Matti Hillig

At RFF, Matti combines his lifelong fascination with nature with deep expertise in strategic communication.

Constantly drawn between the many facets of nature – scientific curiosity, the imperative of environmental protection, and pure aesthetics – his path led from undergraduate studies in biology through work in environmental conservation to a master’s degree in political science, and ultimately to two decades of professional photography and content marketing.

In light of the biodiversity crisis, Matti now focuses his experience on hands-on nature conservation. At RFF, he contributes his expertise on a voluntary basis, helping to clearly articulate RFF’s vision across social media and website content.

Outside of his professional work, Matti is passionate about, among other things, cultivating exotic palm species.
